A marker for growth

It is about time to move Baby J out of the bassinet. I thought we would get about 3 months out of it, but alas, our boy is growing like a weed.

Here he is today...

Here he is the day we came home (3 days old)
Haha he was such a little peanut! And you can tell we were worried about him being cold...

We had a good day. He took four 1-hour naps throughout the day. Kind of odd, but hey, if it works for him, it works for me. And now he is asleep for the evening; went down at his usual 5:30ish bedtime. What a life.

One of Jonathan's happiest times is on his changing table. He is always talking and smiling there. But of course I can never capture it. Here are some attempts though

He held his head up for like 15 or 20 seconds during tummy time today! What a pro!

He wasn't as happy with his accomplishment as Mommy was...

Then we just hung around for a while and took pictures...

Cooing face

Serious face

Funny face

Thinking face

Cute face

Bright eyed face

Probably enthralled with his toy bug face
He kept kicking this toy today when he was laying down. I don't know if it was intentional, but he definitely loved it when it happened.

We had a very smiley day! Jon got tons of smiles when he got home. And lots more on the play mat. I caught one...

And some more pre- and post-smile faces... Smiles are so hard to capture because he becomes so fixated on the camera when we pull it out. We have to try to distract him from it because he will just stare at the camera lens in awe. This weekend we were helping a friend out with a video project and Jonathan woke up from his nap crying, but when our friend started filming him, he was calm as can be. Our friend said we should find a stuffed camera to give him. That sounds like a good security item for as he gets older.

  1. Looks like a good day. We can't believe how big he got in that bassinet! The smile looks like his mom!
