1 month checkup

1 month check up today, even though he isn't actually 1 month old until tomorrow. Our boy is growing! He is now 22 inches (last visit was 20.5 inches). And he weighs 8lb 10oz (last visit was 7lb). That's right folks, our boy has gained 26 oz in 16 days. Average growth for this time period would be .5-1oz per day but our boy gained roughly 1.5oz per day. That makes a mommy proud :)

We also had a little visit from our cloth-diaper-lady extraordinaire who helped us figure out these leaks. She gave us some advice and some new ways to fold them and let us use a different cover. We are going to get this figured out and are NOT going to change our clothes every 2 hours forever.

Jonathan is smiling a LOT more now which of course melts our hearts every time. I think we are getting closer and closer to those real, interactive smiles happening on a more consistent basis! Then my life will be occupied with trying to make those smiles happen ha!

Fun shots from our day--mostly of hanging out on the couch with Aunt Kate watching our boy.
NOTICE that there is only 1 outfit the whole day woot!!

He literally couldn't take his eyes off Kate. At his checkup the doc said it's because of her red hair!

 Love these big ole cheeks
Haha his hands are a blur in every picture they are in.

Cute backside of this outfit :) Thanks again Gram and Kate!

  1. I'm impressed that you guys are even using the cloth diapers already! What kind did you decide to go with? We didn't start with Adelaide til like maybe 6 weeks b/c that was when her legs seemed big enough to fill the leg holes and not leak. Can't wait to talk to you more about how that's going and how you like it! CANNOT WAIT TO MEET THIS LITTLE MAN!!!

  2. OK, he is beautiful and so I naturally want to also give him credit for growing so good and fast because I automatically attribute all good things on the planet to this little guy, but I know this is not really accurate as he is not really the agent of his growth. All credit goes to the MOM! Lea, you are doing so great! Jonathan definitely feels the love and benefits from your devotion to his needs. That might be why he's such a good smiler already!

And, in the monkey-butt picture, Jonathan's Mom is looking beautiful, too!

    Yay, Colorado Buck Family!

Love you all and shout out to Aunt Kate, whom I love and miss and I know she is having a blast with you all!
