chicago!

Yahoooo last week we went on an adventurous vacation to Chicago with Jon's parents. Jonathan had tremendous anticipation leading up to traveling to sheet-o (chicago) on an ate (airplane) in the si (sky) with the tous (clouds) to see Pop (Pop) and Bebe (Bebe) and give them a huuu (hug).

We really loved this place! Here are a million pictures...

Happy family at Navy Pier

The whole crew on our architectural boat tour.

We ate at Gino's East for some deep dish pizza.
This place was so cool that people wrote all over it, even on the ceiling, as Jonathan is pointing out.
For some reason J is into opposites these days, and we would hear him chanting "up, down" or "open, closed" during afternoon stroller rides around the city. Hilarious!

Jon and Rob on the Skydeck at the Sears Tower.

Pop was telling some good jokes on this subway ride.

We were so lucky that our hotel was right next to the Chicago Fire Department.
We got to see and hear fire trucks at all hours of the day and night.
And we didn't even have to pay extra!

Cute, yes. Until we put him into the bike trailer, at which time Jonathan commenced to scream in terror for 45 minutes until we decided to return our rental bikes. At least we know not to invest in a bike trailer of our own.

Trying for a family picture at the Bean. Look at the mischievous boy looking backwards instead.

Happy because 1. He's not in his stroller and 2. We are next to a water fountain aka his favorite thing.

Eating lunch at Lincoln Park Zoo.
Probably trying to sweet talk Bebe into giving him her brownie.

A fun day spent at the zoo means we are ready to be done posing for pictures.

We managed to squeeze in a Cubs game. So fun!

Outside Wrigley Field.
So nice to have other people around to take pictures of all three of us!!

Pop, Bebe, and buddy at Navy Pier.

And now for the best picture ever taken:

Pop and Mommy swinging J towards the Bean. This picture captures the exhilaration that exists when the fun of swinging combines with the terror of crashing into the Bean.

Thanks, Chicago! We will miss you.
